2024 Graduate Teachers

Toowoomba Catholic Schools is thrilled to announce the addition of exceptional graduate teachers to our esteemed group of educators across the Toowoomba Diocese. These new teachers are set to make a difference in the lives of their students and are eager to embark on their teaching careers. We spoke to four graduate teachers about what inspired them to become teachers and what they are most excited about in their first year.

Gabby Brac, a new graduate teacher joining Mater Dei Primary School in Toowoomba, is excited about the prospect of having her own class and being able to impart her knowledge and wisdom to students. She firmly believes that education has the power to shape young minds and is committed to providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Her passion for teaching started as a School Based Apprentice at St Thomas More’s School in Toowoomba where she was inspired to continue this career path. Gabby knew she had to work in education from a young age and one day hopes to teach in developing countries.

Merryn Gaggi, who is joining St Patrick's School in St George, is determined to make a positive impact on the world. Eager to immerse herself in the vibrant community, she looks forward to getting involved in the various opportunities a small community offers. Merryn's enthusiasm and dedication are sure to inspire her students.

Tarah-Lea Rival said that working at St Joseph's College in Toowoomba as a School Officer inspired her to continue with her education degree. She was also encouraged by the supportive community at the College. Tarah-Lea is excited to give back to the community that influenced her own educational journey. She looks forward to nurturing her students and providing them with the tools they need to succeed.

Zac Storey, a proud Dalby local, will be teaching at Our Lady of the Southern Cross College in Dalby. With a lifetime dedicated to learning, Zac sees teaching as an opportunity to share his knowledge and experiences to make a positive impact. Building upon his existing connections within the school community, Zac is ready to empower his students to reach their full potential.
