Reading improvement strategy continues to reap rewards
On Monday of this week 150 school officers gathered at the City Golf Club in Toowoomba for an inservice day on the high yield strategies for teaching of reading. School officers also gathered for a similar purpose in Roma and Charleville.
I was delighted to open such a day devoted to building the expertise of this important group of para-educators in our schools.
The teacher is the leader of learning in the classroom, ably supported by a capable team, including school officers, who make a crucial contribution to the successful implementation of the system-wide reading strategy.
I take this opportunity to thank all school officers for their important and much appreciated role in our schools.
