World Teachers Day – 27 October 2017

World Teachers' Day is held internationally on 5th October which happens to fall during school holidays, hence the later date in Queensland of Friday, 27 October 2017.

Celebrated in more than 100 countries world-wide, World Teachers' Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in 1994 to recognise the role of teachers in society.

There is no more important person in the lives of students when they are at school than their teacher. I’m proud to be associated with such professional and inspiring educators that we have in TCS.

I take this opportunity to acknowledge our teachers and say thanks for the significant contributions they make to the lives of students every day in our classrooms.  Please take the time to thank a teacher on this day of celebration.
